The only downside to Bluetooth headphones, typically, is the cost. For the past couple of weeks, I've been testing a pair of Moov 28 wireless headphones, and I have come away rather impressed, especially when I consider the $30 price tag.

Design

There's nothing special to call out about the Moov 28, but that's not a bad thing. Black from tip to tip, the Moov 28 headphones aren't designed to stand out and call attention to what you have in your ears.

Just below the right earbud is where the battery and playback controls are found. Three total buttons make up the controls, with a back, next, and a multifunction button that acts as a play/pause and power button.

This is an area where competing headphones in this price range fall short. I've switched between connecting the Moov 28 headphones to my phone and my iMac during that time.

It's all about value

For $30, you can't really go wrong with the Moov 28 headphones. The construction feels solid, the sound quality is decent, and battery life is better than expected.

Add in a splash proof rating, and a comfortable fit and you have a winning combination.

Bluetooth headphones have always been hit and miss for me. I ended up running about a 1/3 of a mile before turning around and running right back home for that clip. After wearing these for three hours, I experienced some minor discomfort, but overall, these sit nicely in the ear, and the loops are soft and bendy, but  firm enough to keep the earbuds in your ears. As far as battery life, the Moov 28s held up well, giving me hours of listening before I had to recharge them. If you unpair the earbuds, they'll shut themselves off within about 10 minutes or so, which helps to conserve battery life.

How to pair earbuds with a bluetooth device for the first time

For the first time pairing, keep the earphones close to your phone or other bluetooth device (about 3 feet / 1 meter). To activate pairing mode, press and holdthe multifunction button in the middle until you’ll see LED light blinking red and blue.

And lastly, activate bluetooth on your device and do a search. You should find “VAVA MOOV 28” on the list of available devices. Once the devices are connected, a blue LED light will flash on the earphones for visual confirmation.

Controls are placed on the cable on the right side. There are three buttons. Two for volume/skipping tracks and one multifunctional button. We personally like the position of controls on the cable more than controls on the earbud itself since you do not need to lift your hand as high.

Secondly, touching controls on the cable does not move the earplug which would result in extra noise in your ear. Thirdly, the microphone is on the controls panel and it’s closer to your mouth.

Right, straight from the get-go I’ve got to tell you that these are available from Amazon US for $33.99 but I got mine from Amazon UK for £22.99.

Basically, I joined the gym again in January. I’d previously used a gym for free thanks to my old employers, but since switching jobs I hadn’t done a great deal of exercise. They have ergonomically angled eartips but, as you may be able to see from the ones I’ve got, they’re labelled “R” for the right ear and …umm. “R” for the left ear. I think someone in the factory slightly messed up, but thankfully the eartips are pointing correctly and the magnets on the back of the earpieces means that they click together at the base of your neck when you’re not using them.

So, there’s me, with my little pot belly, in the gym. I’m there next to the blokes balancing the weight of a small family car on their hands. I’m running along, sweating like a teenager when his mom borrows his laptop. But no, these cool headphones haven’t fallen out yet. This despite the fact that the sweat is now raining down off my head like a shower. They’re sticking firm.

Every day you can find a pair of Apple AirPods in my front right pocket, but at $160, I realize they are not for everyone.
