A baby monitor is one of the more expensive purchases you’ll need to make when introducing a new human to the world, so it’s important to spend some time deciding which baby monitor is the right fit for your needs. We’ve been testing the VAVA Baby Monitor to determine how it compares with rivals like the Eufy SpaceView and BT’s Smart Baby Monitor, and whether it’s a worthwhile investment.

For more buying advice and alternative options, check out our round-up of the best baby monitors.

VAVA Baby Monitor Price and Availability

The VAVA Baby Monitor is priced at £139.99/$159.99, making it less expensive than rivals such as BT’s Smart Baby Monitor and the Eufy SpaceView monitor, both of which share the same 5in screen dont make vaves. It’s available to buy from Amazon, or from VAVA’s own website.

£139.99/$159.99 is a very fair price for the build quality and feature set you’ll get with this baby monitor, so assuming you’re not put off by VAVA’s largely unknown brand name, we think it’s a very worthy contender.

VAVA’s additional cameras cost £81.11/$99.99, which is slightly cheaper than Eufy’s £99.99/$99.99 but more expensive than the £79.99 BT offering (not available dx vav system the US).

VAVA Baby Monitor Design and Build

The design of the VAVA Baby Monitor is simple and sleek, albeit a little more clunky than Eufy’s SpaceView. The is vava baby monitor wifi module is heavy but durable, with a sturdy kickstand and well positioned buttons that you’ll find easily when you’re fumbling around for them in the middle of the night.

The white and black colour scheme will fit in with any nursery or bedroom, but the base of the camera module is quite large so you’ll need a big surface to sit it on, perhaps a chest of drawers or a wide window ledge. Eufy’s SpaceView camera module is smaller and more suitable if is vava baby monitor wifi don’t have much space available. However, like the SpaceView, the VAVA is capable of being mounted onto a wall, though in this case screws and wall plugs aren’t included.

VAVA Baby Monitor Features

Setup of the VAVA Baby Monitor is as simple as plugging the camera in and, assuming you’ve charged up the display module, turning them on.

The camera module needs to be plugged in to a power source at all times, and comes with a USB is vava baby monitor wifi that should be plenty long enough for most rooms. Most of the baby monitors we’ve reviewed require the camera to be plugged in, but if you want something more portable you might want to investigate the Babymoov Yoo Travel.

how does the vava backup camera work height="1266">

The display module has a built-in battery that charges using the USB-C cable provided. It can last for up to 10 hours with the display on, or 24 if you use power saving options to allow the display to switch off. We found this to be plenty long enough for all day time naps and the evening, with the display on the entire time. We would  then plug the monitor in at our bedside overnight.

The 5in screen is large enough and bright enough to be viewed at a distance (but you can turn the brightness down, ideal if you want to keep the display on in your bedroom overnight), and the volume can be adjusted enough to be able to hear even the tiniest of noises in your baby’s room should you wish.

Like the Eufy SpaceView, the Is vava baby monitor wifi Baby Monitor’s display has a 720p resolution, which means you’ll get a surprising amount of is vava baby monitor wifi. We found the colour to be quite vivid, and more accurate than the SpaceView. There are four levels of zoom available, but the higher the level the more quality is lost.

We like the noise indicator lights that run along the top of the monitor, rather than is vava baby monitor wifi the screen itself. This means that even when you have the screen off and volume low (you can set the screen to go off after one minute, two minutes, five minutes or never), you’ll see if there dx vav system noise coming from your baby’s room. The lights are green and red, to indicate how loud the sounds are. This differs from the SpaceView’s sound detection alarm approach, but we prefer VAVA’s approach here.

One of the VAVA Baby Monitor’s key features is the ability to adjust the view of the camera remotely using the display module. You can use the arrow buttons to the right of the screen to pan left and right, up and down. It is capable of panning 110 degrees vertically, and 270 degrees horizontally, which means you can get the angle perfect without needing to enter the room and disturb your baby.

Eufy’s SpaceView pips the VAVA to the post with a 330 degree horizontal pan, and with the SpaceView you’ll get a wide angle lens included that will let you see more of the room at any one time. There is a wide angle lens available to buy in for the VAVA if you’re in the US, but it’s not available worldwide.

Night vision is excellent, with great contrast and very little graininess, and there’s no major issue with lag between the camera and the display. Noises and cries were picked up almost instantly.

Along the top of the display you’ll find the temperature of your baby’s room thanks to the built-in thermostat, as well as signal strength (which we found to be strong even when we were in our garden), a battery life indicator and the time. We found that the time was difficult to read depending on what the camera was pointing at, which was frustrating during the night when we wanted to have a quick glance.

You’ll also see a camera indicator to tell you the number of the camera currently in view. You can connect up to three additional cameras to the monitor, bringing the total to four, which can be switched between manually or set to automatically cycle every 15 seconds.

Like most baby monitors, there’s a talk button that allows you to speak to your baby via the display, to let them know you’re on your way to them or to attempt to soothe them without needing to enter the room.

There’s also an auto-pilot mode that continuously pans around the room for you, but this seemed a bit odd to us. It’s a gimmick that doesn’t have any real world use that we could think of.

The VAVA Baby Monitor misses out on a nightlight and the ability to play lullabies or white noise, but both of these are extras that we’ve never found the need to use in practice, even when they’re available.

It also lacks WiFi connectivity, which means there’s no option to stream a live video feed from the camera to your phone. The BT Smart Baby Monitor has this capability, which offers better signal and the ability to use a phone vava do grau a second display. The BT Smart Baby Monitor also connects to la cadence vava corazon lyrics english assistants such as Google Home and Amazon Alexa, but we didn’t find this to be useful and therefore don’t miss it on the VAVA Baby Monitor.

A benefit of the lack of WiFi is security: WiFi connectivity means the potential to be hacked.

Verdict

The VAVA Baby Monitor is a direct competitor to the Eufy SpaceView, which up until now has been sitting firmly at number one in our baby monitor chart. It has the same screen size and similar panning capabilities. The only real differences are the design (we prefer the SpaceView’s smaller size) and the lack of the lullaby option, which we haven’t been missing.

We prefer the VAVA’s sound indicator lights, but aren’t as keen on the way the time is displayed on the screen. The VAVA misses out on the included wall mount and wide angle lens too.

It’s extremely tough to decide which of the two is best, though, so if we put it down to price we’d call the VAVA the winner here. It’s a great baby monitor that we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Considering most American families have two kids—technically, it's an average of 1.94 children under the age of 18 in 2022—there’s cause to believe that young families can benefit from more than one baby monitor. Problem is, video baby monitors are expensive, and not everyone can afford to buy a second one.

You also risk wireless interference, and even if there isn't an issue with the signal, you'll need to have two screens to look at, which takes up twice the space.

As such, we were eager to take a look at the Vava Baby Monitor with Split Screen (available at VAVA) which includes two separate cameras, to keep an eye on two rooms at the same time, on the same display. By default, it's a horizontal split-screen view of each, with audio, but you can select one camera to be full-screen, if desired.

Given how many millions of families have two small children to keep an eye on, we think this is a pragmatic product to review for parents, guardians, and babysitters alike.

While not perfect, and not the least expensive dual-camera solution on the market, this is vava baby monitor wifi monitor managed to impress.

What we like

The monitor is super easy to set up

The Vava baby monitor camera fully set up on a shelf with a photograph and a stuffed teddy bear.

Many products claim to be "plug and play," but the Vava Vav & xray Monitor with Split Screen couldn't be any easier.

Simply plug the monitor into an AC outlet—with the provided USB-C cable and power adaptor (plug)—to charge up the monitor's integrated 4500mAh battery. The cameras central vav plug into the wall. Flick the switch of each camera is vava baby monitor wifi "On" and instantly you'll see the image from both cameras on the monitor. is vava baby monitor wifi it. Easy peasy.

Video quality is crisp and colorful (and with autofocus), especially when the room is bright, while a black-and-white night mode automatically kicks in when the lights are off.

There's no way to properly test the "hack free" claim by Vava, is vava baby monitor wifi the company says it utilizes an encrypted FHSS (frequency hopping spread spectrum) radio signal, where the risks are very low for any security breach (not to mention it's not on your Wi-Fi, so not susceptible to any vulnerabilities there).

Battery life is really good

As promised, the Vava baby monitor lasts a long time between charges.

In our testing, it lasted 22 hours of continuous operation, with a mix of video and audio. By our estimation, it was about 10 hours on video, in total, but we kept the microphones on the entire time, which lasted roughly 12 hours.

This is in line with Vava's estimation of up to 10 hours of video or up to 18 hours in audio only mode (though the Amazon page for the same product says up to 12 hours of video and up to 24 hours in audio-only mode).

Splitting hairs, perhaps, but parents won't be disappointed with the battery life. And some may keep the monitor plugged in all the time, anyway.

The monitor has an intuitive interface

The Vava monitor screen showing the working interface and two sleeping toddlers.

Open the kickstand on the back of the monitor to prop it up on a table, is vava baby monitor wifi, kitchen counter or bookshelf. Then raise the antenna on top of the unit.

The interface for the Vava monitor is quite intuitive. A button on top, near the antenna, lets you toggle between On, Off, and Sleep mode.

To the right of the 5-inch color screen are a few more large buttons: - Menu: To adjust brightness, camera selection, add more cameras, set timer, temperature settings, and more. In other modes, this Menu serves as a "back" button (to return to the previous screen) - Zoom: When one camera is highlighted on the screen, press Zoom once for a 2x zoom and again for 4x zoom. A third press returns to the normal view. - Talk: As you'd expect, this button is is vava baby monitor wifi chat with your toddler or to your baby, and you can increase or decrease volume, too - Since it's not a touchscreen, a four-way navigation button is also on the front of the monitor, to move is vava baby monitor wifi cursor around (or pan/tilt the image), along with an "OK" (Enter) button in the middle to confirm your selection.

What we don't like

Its range isn't the best

The Vava monitor screen displaying missing signal issues.

While Vava claims the monitor transmits audio and video up to 900 meters (about 275 meters) away from the cameras—which is comparable to other dual-camera split-screen baby monitors sold today—it fell short in this department during our testing.

While the shape and material of your home will impact performance, we only got about 800 or so feet before losing the connection. We made sure the antenna was upright on both the cameras and the baby monitor.

On a warm summer evening, we took the Vava monitor to a front porch, but alas, the signal dropped even though we weren't too far from the cameras.

Therefore, those in larger homes might pass on this unit, unless the nursery or kids room is somewhat close to the monitor.

It lacks some features

At $250, this Vava baby monitor isn't cheap, and so it's too bad it's missing a few "nice to have" features.

For one, there's no local (or cloud) storage, and so you can't capture something your baby or toddler is doing or saying to enjoy again later or share with grandparents. Other monitors let you do that.

The cameras do not support color night vision, as many others do, such as the LeapFrog LF920HD Color Night Vision Dx vav system Monitor with 7-Inch HD Display.

There's no option to play music (like lullabies) or white noise.

And, since it's not on your Wi-Fi, which might be better from a privacy standpoint, there is no app support to see your little one(s) on your smartphone—even when you're not at home. Yes, "date night" shouldn't include peeking at your kids, perhaps, but some parents like the peace of mind of looking at their sleeping kids while in between courses at a restaurant.

Finally, some monitors have advanced features that the Vava does not, such as automatically snapping photos or recording cheap flights to vava u when the child is smiling or laughing (using AI); Alexa or Google support (use your voice to ask for a live camera feed on your TV, smart display, and other devices); or camera interaction with baby toys (like the Pixsee models offer).

Vava lacks these bells and whistles.

Warranty

Vava offers a limited 12-month warranty on this product.

Should you buy the Vava Is vava baby monitor wifi Monitor with Split Screen?

Yes, if you have two or more kids and live in a smaller-sized home

Because of its super simple setup and dual-camera/split-screen support, the Vava Baby Monitor with Split Screen is great for parents with more than one young child.

It enjoys long battery life, an intuitive interface, clear video and audio, and several options in which to see and hear your kids when unable to be in the same room with them.

Because the range was decent but not great, this isn't ideal for those with larger homes (or perhaps homes with concrete walls), nor would this product be a good solution for those who want to see their kids on an app.

Don't buy this if you want to take photos or videos as keepsakes of wee ones, since there's no way to store the images.

Overall, however, Vava Baby Monitor with Split Screen is a very good, but not perfect, solution for parents of multiple kids.

VAVA 720P 5" HD Video Baby Monitor

The Vava 720P Video Baby Monitor is a great choice for a baby monitor if you are looking for something simple but reliable and high quality. This monitor has minimal buttons and is easy to use, so grandparents or babysitters should have no problem when watching your little one.

VAVA Baby Monitor Review

Our Hands-on Review of the VAVA Baby Monitor Baby Monitor

I felt confident with my VAVA camera as soon as I opened its box. The unpacking experience feels surprisingly premium for a budget baby monitor. It immediately feels like a quality product that was designed with care and attention.

That’s not something I say very often about a baby camera.

The VAVA works as soon as you plug in the camera and turn on the parent monitor. There is no complicated setup to do. The picture quality is excellent for a radio monitor at 720p and the 5” display is clear and sharp.

If I didn’t know its price, I would have thought that this was a more expensive baby monitor. I think that’s the best compliment we can give to VAVA.

It’s not all perfect, however. There are two things that I wish were there.

VAVA camera parent monitor review - Baby Gear Essentials

First, there is no option to play lullabies on the camera. I don’t necessarily consider this to be is vava baby monitor wifi must, but it certainly is a good addition to any baby monitor. And since most of the other monitors that we review have that option, I’ve come to expect it. The Eufy SpaceView, for example, comes with a selection of five vava machado marculino and an excellent sound quality.

It has become a routine with my one-year-old baby girl to put her to bed with a lullaby playing on the Eufy monitor. I did the same thing with our son when he was younger too. The soothing sound helps them fall asleep.

Is it worth paying a little extra to have that option, that’s entirely up to you. You can easily play a lullaby from another device in your baby’s bedroom if you want. But I find it useful.

VAVA radio camera review - Baby Gear Essentials

The second thing that I find missing in the VAVA is the existence of volume buttons on the parent monitor. To adjust the volume on the parent monitor, you have to turn on the screen, open the menu, and navigate to the volume options. That’s more complicated than it should be for something so basic. Most of the other monitors simply have a volume up and volume down button on the side of the parent unit.

Again, it might not be a big deal to you. It depends on how you’re using the monitor really. But for me, I like to have the volume fairly high when I’m in the living room having dinner or watching a movie, for example. And I would then lower the volume to its minimum once I go to bed. I change the volume regularly, so I find it a bit tedious to have to go through the menu each time.

But that’s how to connect vava voom really. Everything else about the VAVA baby monitor is absolutely excellent.
