Seems like a really good deal for a vacuum with a premium flexible hose and the accessories it comes with. Will costco shop vav one up if it's $80.

I haven't received my copy yet but I'm on the wet coast. Assuming the flyer being seen by Ontario and Quebec residents is NOT just for eastern Canada only, that will be a great price for that DeWALT vacuum.
In case anyone is thinking of a pro versus con on a metal versus plastic tub shop vac. STATIC DISCHARGE!!! Anyone that's ever had to deal with styrofoam bits and sawdust vava dash cam warranty a very dry environment will know that a metal tub vacuum cleaner is much easier to empty and clean versus a plastic static trap tub. In a very wet and costco shop vav inducing environment, the plastic tub is the best choice.

Looks like a great deal. The 10 gallon capacity may be on the low side, particularly if you're trying to move water.
My experience with shop vacs, but not this particular model, is:
- Bags are sort of useless. These units are not designed in such a way that the bag will fill up evenly because all the suction is in the top center, and the intake is located on the top edge. Material can clog up the intake or only partially fill the bag.
nun bet vav Filters get dirty and degrade the performance quickly. Better filters get clogged faster. This is mitigated by using the bag alongside the filter.
- They're LOUD, particularly these types with a high water lift and low price point.
If you're using it solely for dry material collection, adding a cyclone dust separator will separate out 99% of the dust, making the bag/filter last forever.
For vacuuming water, shop vacs are indispensable. I have used it to unclog sinks and pipes, with varying degrees of success. Once I had to snake first, then the shop vac was able to suck out a bunch of gunk afterward. So satisfying!

I bought this full price and would say that was worth it. For 80, if you don't have a shop vac do it. Plenty of this party filters and bags available.

From a quick scan of reviews people are saying the filters are expensive and hard to find. Also have heard that steel wet dry vacs also rust.
FYI this model is 5 HP
It's a good deal though so I'm on the fence!

I've had my eye on this since it was $130 waiting for it to drop. Don't currently own a shop vac and think this is a reasonable level to pull the trigger at. Thanks OP.

Yes they do but just return the unit you have with the original receipt and go purchase a new one off the floor.

Great Costco shop vav Mine finally went caput after 10 years and many filters. Most of the last two jobs were concrete dust so I think that was the final straw.

I bought one a couple years ago and it's leaking out of the bottom now. Rusted in a few places.
I was not vigilant about drying it after wet pickup. Then again, if it were plastic there wouldn't be a need to worry at all.

Costco shop vav long did bags and filters last and what are the correct filters for this model? I don't know if this is the right one, but this one has a HEPA filter and a few dust bags: for $47: https://www.rona.ca/en/product/dewalt-r . 1-45585045. I wouldn't get the steel model if you're planning to use it as a costco shop vav vac. Stainless just means it has some amount of chrome in it, but it will still rust given enough moisture and time.Greebo wrote: ↑ Wait what?! I looked for this yesterday at the Pointe-Claire CostCo, found it but it was $99. Did the deal not kick in yet or do certain locations not follow the deal itself? Would I be able to get a retroactive refund for the difference if I bought it?
